Question: Can you explain a little bit about the tools in-game that allows players to build?Is it prop based, or something else? In the videos, it looks like you're using voxels.
==Recipe Management==

Answer: We use something a bit fancier than voxels. Each cubic meter knows how to flow, separate, fall, have quantity, react to heat, cold, change state of matter, etc. We do use a voxel renderer to then display all that. We ALSO have prop-based building.
Crafting also involves strategic management of recipes. Players cannot gather all available recipes; instead, they must choose which recipes to learn and retain within their limited recipe book space. This limitation requires players to make decisions about their crafting specialization, contributing to the game's overall depth and complexity.<ref name="SWG2" />

Question: For the building aspect of the game. Will there be blueprints or will everything be free build.

Answer: It's free build right now. We do have the ability to do blueprints as a skill, in our roadmap, but that's subject to change.

"You earn offline progression in crafting when people use the stuff you crafted, not from just making widgets over and over."

"You can't gather all the recipes on the path to building a spaceship -- your recipe book has limited space. And so on."

Crafting is a crucial aspect of gameplay in Stars Reach, allowing players to create a vast array of items, from useful tools and equipment to decorative objects. The game's deep crafting system supports both mass production and artisanal craftsmanship, enabling players to experiment with stats and create unique items. Additionally, players can brand and visually customize their products, aiming to build game-wide fame as crafters, with the potential to become as influential as combatants within the galaxy.[1]

Crafting System Overview

The crafting system is designed to be both comprehensive and flexible. Players can craft thousands of items, leveraging a system that supports both large-scale manufacturing and individual craftsmanship. The game emphasizes the importance of player experimentation, allowing crafters to modify the stats of their creations to achieve unique results. This system encourages a deep engagement with the crafting process, as players strive to perfect their products and establish themselves as renowned artisans in the game's economy.

Progression in Crafting

Progression in crafting within Stars Reach is tied to the utility of crafted items rather than just their creation. Players earn progression when others use the items they've crafted, emphasizing the importance of producing high-quality, desirable goods. This system contrasts with traditional crafting systems where players gain experience primarily through the repetitive creation of items.[1]

Recipe Management

Crafting also involves strategic management of recipes. Players cannot gather all available recipes; instead, they must choose which recipes to learn and retain within their limited recipe book space. This limitation requires players to make decisions about their crafting specialization, contributing to the game's overall depth and complexity.[1]
