Inspiration

Stars Reach has been said to be a spiritual successor to both Ultima Online and Star Wars: Galaxies. Moreover, there are several quotes from Raph Koster to support this.

In response to Stars Reach systems sounding like a Star Wars: Galaxies lite, Raph replied, "I wouldn’t say “lite” at all. In many cases, we are trying to take a step past what we did with SWG."

Raph continued, "Glad to hear it. We definitely focused our messaging on the novel stuff. But picture the gameplay from SWG dropped into that living world, but with action combat. Another example of trying to take stuff further: you can build in space. :)"
